In fact, Akamai – a leading content delivery network (CDN) services provider – asked 1,048 online shoppers how long they expected a web page to take to load…nearly half (47%) said 2 seconds or less!

A total of 40% said they would completely abandon a web page if it took more than three seconds to load, which is quite concerning when competition for online business is so high.

Vizify to shut down following Yahoo! acquision, not so yahoo…

Vizify to shut downSwanky-looking social data visualisation firm Vizify has announced that following its acquisition by Yahoo! it will be “sunsetting the Vizify service” which is a polite and rather obscure way of saying they’re binning it.

In a newsletter sent out today they said that as “part of their transition to Yahoo”, they will no longer be allowing new signups or purchases of paid plans.

Russia’s Yandex to display Facebook posts & comments in results

BBC News – Facebook has agreed a deal to share public data from its users with Yandex – Russia’s largest search engine. The deal will give Yandex full access to public data from users in Russia, Turkey and CIS countries including Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The data includes users’ posts and comments on them. Profiles or posts set to “private” will not be searchable.
